The Sons of the American Revolution is pleased to sponsor this essay contest for high school students. Here’s a brief summary. Use the links at the left to learn more.

 

Topic: Write about an event, person, philosophy, or ideal associated with the American Revolution, the Declaration of Independence, or the framing of the United States Constitution.

            Or

            Put your Civics and American Government course to good use and write or some aspect of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, or the Supreme Court as applied to current times. Essays which explore specific Supreme Court rulings are acceptable.

The 2010-2011 Contest:

We’ll post details about our next contest in September when the rules become available. We do not anticipate significant changes so read the information about this year’s contest to get a head start.

 

Tentative Deadline: Send a written copy or email your essay by January 30, 2011

 

Prizes: First Place - $500.00

 

 

The winner may enter the National Contest and compete for additional prizes.
