National Society Elementary School Poster Contest for 4^th and 5^th Graders

The Tampa Chapter is pleased to announce its participation in the National Society Elementary School Poster Contest. We hope the contest will stimulate interest in American History in support of the fourth and fifth grade curriculum.  

The topic for 2007 - 2008 year’s contest is: “Molly Pitcher”

We’re pleased to announce this year’s winners:

1^st Place: Skye Bolender

Receives a trophy, certificate and $50

2^nd Place: Savannah Bolender

Receives a trophy, certificate and $35

3^rd Place: Anna Keating

Receives a trophy, certificate and $25

Our thanks go out to the Ruskin Christian School for their participation. We received 17 entries from the school.

Posters were judged by the following criteria:

- Does the poster express the annual theme?

- Does the poster show originality by the student?

- Does the poster show evidence of research?

- Does the poster show artistic merit and creativity?

- Is the poster neat?

The winner of our local contest competed at the State contest held May 3^rd at the Annual Meeting in Kissimmee.  We’re pleased to report that Skye placed 3^rd!
